Some statistics. 80% of the 500 most powerful restaurant companies in the United States develop fast casual formats for their guests.

There are 3 main reasons for this. First, such formats offer guest-friendly prices and thus gain a competitive advantage. Secondly, this format is more convenient: the guest does not wait for an order longer than 10 minutes, and this is important given the pace of life. Third, such projects give better profitability than conventional restaurants.

5 US companies that show the fastest growth in this segment: Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Panda Express, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Wingstop.

Interesting fact: 85% of people in the United States decide where they will dine every day, that is, they do not prioritize pre-booked establishments.

What else? Brandwatch presented the results of a survey on how guests choose fast casual establishments. The main factor (for 36% of people) is the quality of the product, then almost at the same level are affordability, convenient location and speed of service. Among other factors mentioned: friendly service, personalization, innovative products or moments in service and sustainability (what are the principles of sustainable development used by business).
